FAQ

Some frequently asked questions

1. Do You Have a Showroom in Auckland?

Yes! Our showroom is open to the public 6 days a week. If you would like to discuss your kitchen renovation it is a good idea to call ahead on PH: 09 486 0811 and make an appointment, especially if it is a Saturday.

2. What’s the Address of your Showroom?

The showroom is located at Century Lane Way, Shop 4, 62-78 Hurstmere Road, Takapuna.

3. What Hours is your Showroom Open?

Our showroom is open Monday through Friday 9:30AM to 5.30PM and Saturday 10.00AM to 4.00PM.

4. Do you do in home consultations and what happens?

Our kitchen specialists will come to your home. This is usually after you have visited us in our showroom as we have so many products, samples and cabinet ideas to show you it could never be successfully explained in your home. When we get to your home we will do a site measure and go over with you any thoughts and ideas you may wish to incorporate into your kitchen design. The designer will then come back to our showroom and create a 3d design using the latest kitchen design software for you to look at.

5. Can I just Purchase Cabinets Only (Material Only)? Or Installation Only?

At Kitchen Vision we pride ourselves on the kitchens we build. Our installation is carried out by an in-house technician and not a sub-contractor. We are very sorry but we do not supply kitset, part kitchens or cabinets for self-installation. All the work we do has a 10-year guarantee and hence we need to control how it is built and installed.

6. Do you do Refinishing/Refacing doors?

This is not our line of work. We have found that often it is not 100% successful as you still have your old carcass (usually chipboard) and this has often deteriorated over the years. New doors or refinishing them can be expensive and often a short-term fix.

7. Do you Subcontract the Work?

You deal directly with us. We design, build and install your kitchen.

8. Will I be able to select my own styles and cabinets?

We have a vast selection of styles from Modern to Traditional; Cabinet selections come in a wide variety of finishes and door styles. And because we custom build each unit we can make it to the exact size style or shape required.

9. Will I work with a Kitchen Design Specialist?

Kitchen Vision has expert kitchen designers. We will work side by side with you to create your dream kitchen from scratch. You can sit back and relax as we guide you on making your dream kitchen a reality!

10. How much will my new kitchen cost?

This will depend on a variety of factors such as size of kitchen, complexity of layout and choice of product.

11. Do I have to move out of my home while the job is being done?

Absolutely not! We are relatively fast, clean and respectful of you and your home. Our installers clean up at the end of the day to ensure minimum disruption to you, your family, children, pets and your home.

12. How long does the process take?

We complete most homes in around 3 weeks from the start of installation. If your design is overly complex we will discuss timeframes with you in detail.

13. When should we have the appliances delivered?

Appliances should be delivered at the start of the installation. If you have purchased your appliances through Kitchen Vision we will arrange this for you.

14. Do you handle any construction, electrical, plumbing related issues?

Kitchen Vision does not directly do this type of work. We can recommend contractors that we have worked with whom we have found reliable with high standards and fair prices. We can arrange the plumbing and electrical work for you, however those contractors will bill you direct. We have found that very often when renovating a kitchen, clients seem to find additional work in other areas for the electrician and plumber!

15. Do you provide references?

Yes of course! You may ask your kitchen designer about talking to our previous clients. We have also started posting references on our website for you to read what our clients have to say about us.

16. Do you offer any tips on maintenance?

Yes! We have a variety of helpful tips and hints on how to properly maintain elements of your new kitchen! We usually discuss this with you during your design process so you understand the differences between the products you can choose from.

17. Where do your cabinets come from?

We build all our cabinets in house at our factory based in Silverdale. Our standard production is high quality plywood carcass with a high pressure laminate surface. This is vastly superior to chipboard and mdf carcasses most manufacturers use.

18. I want to replace my cabinetry but I just installed new tiled floors a year ago. Can I re-do my kitchen but keep the same floor?

Absolutely. We can duplicate the same “foot print” without having to touch the floor. At the same time we can make design and storage changes by reconfiguring the components.

19. Do you charge a design fee?

NO. If we are building your kitchen our design services are part of your kitchen cost and include 3D CAD design.

20. Why should we do business with your company vs. another company like yours?

We are one of the very few companies with in-house designers using 3D CAD design and our own manufacturing plant. Kitchen Vision has been in business for over 8 years and our manufacturing team has over 50 years of combined kitchen manufacturing experience.

Our experienced designers have a working knowledge of how your cabinetry is built, which is a huge advantage over other design companies. As your kitchen is manufactured in house our designers can liaise directly with our factory to ensure you get exactly what we have designed for you.
